Overview
This Delft tile dates from around 1800 and depicts a typical Dutch church on a 'terp'. Although churches are often found on Delft landscape tiles, they are in general just a small detail in a larger scene. A tile like this one, on which the church is the most prominent object, is very rare. The tile is decorated with 'spider' corner motifs and is overall in a very good condition with just a few minor chips on the top side.
