Overview
This 18th century Delft tile in blue depicts two figures skating on ice. One of them slips! The first ice skater holds a pole. These poles often had a metal hook on the top. If the ice skaters fell through the ice, they could use the pole to pull themselves out of the freezing cold water. The tile is decorated with 'spider' corner motifs and overall in a very good condition. It has a small chip in the center of the 'ice'.
