This antique Delft tile dates from around 1660 and is decorated with the 'volute' corner motif. It depicts a woman in a 'huik', which was a clothing piece worn by the Dutch during the 16th and 17th century. It was often worn when it was rainy whether, but also during more ceremonial situations, such as the passing of a loved one. The tile is in a great condition with just a small chip on the right side. A photo showing a painting of a woman wearing a huik has been added.
