This antique Delft tile was made during the 2nd half of the 17th century and depicts a woman buying fish on the market, or she is actually the 'fish-pedlar'. The barrel is most likely filled with fresh fish and she holds one of them in her hand which she might be taking home or which she is offering to a buyer. The tile is decorated with 'ox-head' corner motifs and is overall in a very good condition.
