Overview
This antique Delft tile depicts Martin Luther with the Ninety-five Theses. The list of propositions for an academic disputation was written and published by him in 1517. Retrospectively considered to signal the birth of Protestantism. An portrait of Martin Luther clearly shows the resemblances in his clothing and overall appearance. The tile was made around 1660 and is decorated with 'spider' corner motifs. It is in a good condition with small restorations on the top left and top right corner.
