Overview
This antique Delft tile depicts a rare scene of a Chinese person (on the left) and most likely a business man from the west. They are standing next to a large flower (Frittilaria or Tulip), symbolizing the trade of flowers/seeds. They are most likely negotiating about the price. The tile was made around 1660 and is decorated with the 'spider' corner motif. It is overall in a good condition, but it clearly has a covered up chip in the center of the lower side. An interesting detail is that the top left corner motif has not been finished by the painter.
