This antique Delft tile dates from around 1640 and depicts a fierce looking lioness in blue. With its long and curly tail one can imagine how it roars the prairie. An interesting detail is that the animal almost has a 'human-like' face. The tile is decorated with a stylized version of the 'ox-head' corner motif and is overall in a very good condition with the normal, but minimal, superficial wear and chips.
