This antique Delft tile was made around 1640 and depicts a very beautiful peacock on a colourful piece of land. The bird has the characteristic crown and long feathers with the dotted pattern peaocks are well known for. The scene is captured in a circle with and the corners are decorated with the 'Wanli' inspired motif. It is in a good condition with a few professional restorations on the lower corners and slightly on the top side.
