This early 17th century Delft tile (c. 1620) shows the craftmanship of the Dutch potters during the first decades of the Dutch Golden Age. After 400 years, the tile still has beautiful and bright colour and the tile is still as solid as when it left the pottery. It depicts a large pot with flowers in a diamond square. The corners are decorated in reserve with a design that is characteristic for this time period and for these type of tiles. The tile is in a good and pure condition, with a baking flaw on the lower left corner and chips on the lower right and top left corner.
