A fierce looking rooster is what we find on this close to 400 years old Delft tile. Large paws, a large tail and a big breast shows that this is a very confident bird. The tile is decorated with a stylized version of the 'lily' corner motif. The pointy version of this corner motif, which this tile has, is often attributed to a pottery in the Dutch city of Gouda. The tile is in a good condition with just a small chip near the top left corner.
