Overview
This antique Delft tile depicts the Biblical scene that Baby Jesus is being visited by the shepherds. Although the story tells about more shepherds, this tile only depicts one (the kneeling figure). The other two figures surrounding Baby Jesus in the craddle are Mary and Joseph. The tile is decorated with a stylized version of the 'ox-head' corner motif and is overall in a good condition with a slightly worn lower and right side. The tile was made in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
