Overview
This antique Delft tile depicts a Carnation (Dianthus) flower in a soft shade of blue with orange. The tile is decorated with 'fleur-de-lis' corner motifs, which have been painted in a style that allows us to attribute the tile to a pottery in the Dutch city of Gouda. The tile was madea round 1640 and is overall in a good condition with a professional restoration on the right side. Note that this restoration is running from the bottom right corner to the top right corner, but mainly took place in the white area.
