P-36 series – Flower vase
Our P-36 series is inspired by one of the most iconic Delft tile patterns of the early 17th century, the classic flower vase motif. The tiles are painted in warm polychrome tones and detailed with a colourful version of the Fleur-de-Lis corner motif. The photos show the series on our Warm Mix base, finished with pinholes and a fine crackled glaze. This is our standard setup, but we’re happy to customise the base, colours, or finish to suit your project.
1 unique scene
This reproduction is based on an original Delft tile design from the first half of the 17th century, when the flower vase motif was especially popular and appeared in many versions. The palette of blue, green, and orange reflects the strong influence of Italian maiolica and Chinese porcelain, which were highly admired at the time. When placed together, these tiles create a bold, rhythmic surface that feels both historic and expressive. Each tile is hand-painted, so small variations in brushwork and colour ensure that every piece has its own artistic character.
Pinholes in the corners
Pinholes were part of the tile production process before 1860. A wooden board was used to stabilize the clay during cutting, leaving small pin marks - typically two, three, or four. This enhancement can be added to the P-16 tiles to recreate this authentic imperfection, contributing to their historic look and feel.
Crackled finish
Crazing refers to the fine network of hairline cracks that appear over time on antique ceramics, including Delft tiles. It occurs naturally with age, but we offer it as an optional finish to evoke the same aged appearance. If you're looking for a more antique, timeworn look, the crackled finish is a perfect match for the P-16 series.
