Overview
This rare set of four 17th century Delft tiles (c. 1660) was made in Amsterdam. Each tile depicts a mythical sea figure and is decorated with 'ox-head' corner motifs. The tiles are of one firing and were most likely painted by the same painter, making them very consistent in their appearance. All the tiles have professional restorations, mainly along the sides and corners. They do not have any glued fractures.
