This very rare 17th century Delft tile dates from around 1660 and depicts the Christ Child, also commonly referred to as Baby Jesus. We have not come across this tile since we got into Delft tiles, over 50 years ago. It is however not unknown, as an almost identical tile is depicted in the book 'The Dutch by Jan Pluis' on page 359. This tile is decorated with 'ox-head' corner motifs and in a good and pure condition. Note that it has some chips on the top corners and lower left corner.
