This very rare Delft tile, we have not seen it before, depicts two men duelling. They are both wielding a 'rapier', which was a very popular type of sword during the 17th century. Although this duel seems to be close to the end, the man on floor is still holding off his opponent. The tile was made around 1660 and is decorated with 'spider' corner motifs. It is in a great condition with just a small chip on the top side and a very minor one at the lower side.
