Overview
This remarkable set of c. 100 original 17th-century Delft tiles offers a rare glimpse into everyday life in the Dutch Golden Age. The tiles are of one firing, ensuring exceptional consistency in size and style. The hand-painted scenes depict a wide range of charming figures, including a musician, a man walking with a yoke, a stilt walker, a fisherman, a smoker holding a pipe and a drink, religious figures, and many more.
Framed by the classic 'ox-head' corner motif, these tiles were discovered in Leiden, one of the most culturally rich cities of the Dutch Republic. Their historical character and uniformity make them ideal for a restoration project or classically inspired interior design project. They come fully prepared for reuse and are ready to bring an authentic 17th-century Dutch atmosphere to a new setting.
