The Claes Mix by Poarte is a homage to Klaas Regts, founder of the 'Regts Collection' of reclaimed Delft tiles. It combines six classic white shades with subtle notes of blue, white, grey, and a touch of green for a refined yet varied aesthetic. Opting for the optional pinholes and crackled finish (outlined below) can further age the tiles’ appearance, resulting in a warm, timeless feel reminiscent of original Delft craftsmanship.
The first photo features the Claes Mix with both pinholes and the crackled finish, while the overlay images show the base version (no enhancements) and a selection of 16 tiles with the enhancements. For additional details regarding these options, please see the information below and consult the specifications tab.
Pinholes in the corners; before c. 1860, clay tiles were cut on a wooden board held in place by pins, leaving small indentations in the corners. Reintroducing two pinholes per tile preserves the authentic, slightly imperfect character for which Delft tiles are renowned.
Crackled finish; over many years, Delft tiles often develop fine cracks called crazing. Our crackled finish recreates this naturally aged look, enhancing the vintage appeal of the tile. If you prefer a smoother surface, you may choose to omit this enhancement.
