These antique Delft wall tiles depicts the 'Checkered Diamonds''' ornament and date from the second half of the 19th century. The design consists of a refined arrangement of small diamonds painted in the classic Delft colour combination of blue and manganese. Although rooted in traditional Delft tile production, the geometric nature of the pattern gives these tiles a remarkably timeless appearance that feels both historic and contemporary. When installed together, they create a balanced and decorative surface with a subtle architectural quality.

Condition and preparation

All tiles are reclaimed antiques and are fully prepared for reuse. They have been carefully cleaned, desalinated and any soot residues have been removed. Each order is hand-selected to ensure a harmonious appearance in colour tone, glaze and surface character, making them ready for direct installation. If your project requires cut tiles, we can provide designated tiles of this type at a reduced price. These are tiles with more visible imperfections that are ideal for cutting, helping preserve intact historical pieces from unnecessary alteration.

This collection consists of ornament tiles featuring the characteristic Checkered Diamonds pattern in blue and manganese. Tile size

Each tile measures approximately 13 × 13 cm (5.1" × 5.1") and is roughly 7–8 mm (0.3”) thick.. As the tiles are handmade and antique, slight variations in size and thickness are to be expected and contribute to their authentic character.
