Overview

Beautifully hand-painted Delft antique wall tiles known as 'Curved Diamonds', dating from around 1900. These decorative tiles were produced by Royal Pottery Tichelaar in the Dutch town of Makkum during the final phase of the traditional Delft tile industry. The design depicts curved diamond shapes that form a lively and rhythmic repeating pattern when multiple tiles are placed together. Executed in a refined polychrome palette, the pattern creates a balanced and highly decorative surface suitable for both classic and contemporary interiors. Each tile was completely fabricated and painted by hand, resulting in subtle variation while maintaining a remarkably consistent overall appearance.

Condition and preparation

All tiles are reclaimed antiques and are prepared for reuse. They have been cleaned, desalinated and any soot residues have been removed. Each order is hand-selected to ensure a harmonious appearance in colour tone, glaze and surface character. If your project requires cut tiles, designated tiles with more visible imperfections can be supplied at a reduced price, helping preserve intact historical tiles.

Tile variety and stock

This collection consists of repeating ornamental tiles designed to form a continuous 'Curved Diamond' pattern when installed together. Representative images provide a clear impression of the decorative effect created by the repeating design. Availability may vary. Complementing tiles

These tiles are best showcased when used together, as the curved diamond motifs align to create a coherent and visually dynamic pattern across the wall surface. In addition, pairing them with plain white antique tiles dating from around 1900 can introduce visual framing and balance within the overall composition.

Tile size

Each tile measures approximately 13 x 13 cm (5.1” x 5.1”) and is roughly 7–8 mm (0.3”) thick. As the tiles are handmade and antique, slight variations in size and thickness are to be expected and contribute to their authentic character.

Collectibles, books and sample packages of our reproduction tiles can be ordered directly on our website by clicking the 'buy now' button. Our secure checkout processes most credit cards, PayPal, iDeal and several other payment methods. In general these type of orders are shipped the next working day. As soon as they do, you will receive all the details from us to track the progress they are making.

Wall tiles, murals and reproductions can be ordered by making a quote request or by contacting us through our contact page. We will discuss all the details with you and move forward from there.
Shipping and packing
We ship solely with premium partners such as DHL Express and FedEx Economy/Priority. Based on the delivery address, value and weight of the shipment we choose the right carrier to work with. Each shipment is fully insured and prepared with all the required documents to pass customs when ordering from outside the European Union. All our tiles are extremely well packed. We use heavy-duty cardboard boxes for small orders. Larger others are packed in wooden export crates with multiple layers of protective foam.
Product disclaimer
Antique tiles
Antique tiles are handmade, so variations in color, size and texture are to be expected. Also, due to the age of the items, small chips and signs of use are common and considered to be part of antique tiles and the overall experience. Our tiles have been rinsed and cleaned intensely, making them suitable to be reused. However, we can never guarantee that all traces of sooth, salt or other forms of pollution have completely been extracted from the tiles. We expect our customers to be aware of this matter.

Color accuracy
Due to the relative inconsistencies of various display monitors, the colors you see on your screen may not be a totally accurate reproduction of the actual product.
