Overview
Poarte – B is one of nine shades of white we developed, featuring a subtle greenish tone inspired by reclaimed antique Delft tiles. This newly made tile allows you to recreate the classic look and feel that Delft tiles are famous for. Together with our other white shades, Poarte – B forms the foundation for our arranged mixes and series of hand-painted decorated Delft tiles.
Poarte – B is part of the following arranged mixes: warm mix, colourful mix and the all-in mix. Of course, you are free to create your own mix or work with a single shade to achieve the perfect aesthetic for your space.
Pinholes in the corners; pinholes hark back to the traditional production process used before 1860. In those days, tiles were cut from clay with the help of a wooden board stabilized by pins, which left small marks in the corners. We replicate this technique by placing two pinholes in each tile, adding to the authentic, imperfect appeal of Delft tiles.
Crackled finish; crazing, or fine surface cracking, is a natural phenomenon that occurs over time on antique ceramics. Adding this finish can give your tiles a more aged, imperfect look that many find charming and essential to the antique Delft tile experience. Whether you prefer a smooth surface or an aged finish, the choice is yours based on your taste and style goals.
