Overview
Poarte – C is one of nine shades of white we developed, featuring a subtle greyish tone inspired by reclaimed antique Delft tiles. This newly made tile allows you to recreate the distinctive look and feel that Delft tiles are renowned for. Together with our other white shades, Poarte – C forms the basis for our arranged mixes and series of hand-painted decorated Delft tiles.
Poarte – C is part of the following arranged mixes: warm mix, colourful mix, the grey mix, the claes mix and the all-in mix. Of course, you’re free to design your own mix or work with a single shade to suit your personal style.
Pinholes in the corners; pinholes recall the traditional production methods used before 1860. Tiles were cut from clay using a wooden board and pins, which left small marks in the corners. We replicate this process by adding two pinholes in each tile, preserving the authentic, imperfect aesthetic of Delft tiles.
Crackled finish; crazing is a network of fine cracks that develops over time on antique ceramics. By including this finish, you can achieve an aged and imperfect look that many associate with authentic Delft tiles. Whether you want a smooth tile or one with a crackled effect is entirely up to your preference and desired design outcome.
