Overview
Poarte – G is one of nine shades of white we developed, showcasing a deeper grey hue reminiscent of reclaimed antique Delft tiles. This newly made tile lets you recreate the timeless look and feel that Delft tiles are known for. Alongside our other plain white shades, Poarte – G forms a versatile base for our arranged mixes and series of hand-painted decorated Delft tiles.
Poarte – G is part of the blue mix, the claes mix and the all-in mix. Of course, you’re free to create your own combination or focus on a single shade for a cohesive, sophisticated aesthetic.
Pinholes in the corners; pinholes reflect the traditional tile-making process used before 1860. In that era, tiles were cut from clay on a wooden board stabilized by pins, leaving small marks in the corners. By replicating this method and including two pinholes in each tile, we preserve the authentic, imperfect charm of historic Delft tiles.
Crackled finish: Crazing, or a web of fine cracks, can naturally develop on ceramics over time. Adding this crackled finish lends an aged, imperfect look that many enthusiasts associate with genuine antique Delft tiles. Whether you choose a smooth surface or embrace the depth of crackling depends on your personal taste and design vision.
