Overview
Poarte – E is one of nine shades of white we developed, featuring subtle tones of grey and blue derived from reclaimed antique Delft tiles. This newly made tile allows you to recreate the timeless look and feel that Delft tiles are known for. Along with our other plain white shades, Poarte – E serves as a cornerstone for our arranged mixes and series of hand-painted decorated Delft tiles.
Poarte – E is part of the following arranged mixes: colourful mix, the grey mix, the claes mix and the all-in mix. Of course, you are free to design your own mix or simply use a single shade for a distinct, cohesive aesthetic.
Pinholes in the corners; pinholes reflect the historic production methods used before 1860, when tiles were cut from clay with the aid of a wooden board stabilized by pins—leaving small marks in the corners. By adding two pinholes to each tile, we preserve the authentic, imperfect charm that characterizes original Delft tiles.
Crackled finish; crazing, or a network of fine surface cracks, develops naturally over decades on antique ceramics. Choosing a crackled finish can give your tiles an aged, imperfect look that many associate with the authentic Delft experience. Whether you prefer a smooth surface or the unique character of crackling is entirely up to your personal taste.
