Overview
P-39 series – Snake Stars
The P-39 series is a reproduction original Delft tile design from the late 19th century. These tiles are painted in Delft blue on our Poarte-C shade and finished with pinholes for an authentic aged look. This is the standard version, but you can always adjust the shade, finish, or details to match your space.
4 unique scenes
This elegant pattern comes from a reclaimed tile set featuring decorative star shapes framed by curling garlands. Often called the Snake Star, the design forms a full pattern when four tiles are placed together, creating a soft, flowing rhythm across the surface. Originally made in the late 1800s, these tiles reflect a refined sense of symmetry and detail. Each tile is painted by hand, so even though the pattern repeats, every tile carries its own subtle variation, adding warmth and a touch of individuality to your wall.
Pinholes in the corners
Pinholes were part of the tile production process before 1860. A wooden board was used to stabilize the clay during cutting, leaving small pin marks - typically two, three, or four. This enhancement can be added to the P-16 tiles to recreate this authentic imperfection, contributing to their historic look and feel.
Crackled finish
Crazing refers to the fine network of hairline cracks that appear over time on antique ceramics, including Delft tiles. It occurs naturally with age, but we offer it as an optional finish to evoke the same aged appearance. If you're looking for a more antique, timeworn look, the crackled finish is a perfect match for the P-16 series.
